Synopsis: Facing the pressure from her traditional family, Bopha (Bonna Tek), a Cambodian-American woman, is forced to marry Veasna (Charlee Chiv: Midnight Club II), a man she has never met. Shortly after her engagement, she meets Ran, (Sam Lorn: G, Manhattan Midnight, HBO Autopsy 5: Dead Men Do Tell Tales) a Cambodian-American man, who struggles with his own family issues. Ran lost both his parents within a year of each other leaving Ran to raise his rebellious younger brother, Vichet (Tana Sarntinoranont: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Rose Woes and Joes ), while trying to maintain the traditional Khmer values of honor and family. Destiny, however, has its own plan in bringing Bopha and Ran together and Bopha is torn between family honor and her true love. Meanwhile, Ran’s best friend, Damien, an African-American man (Charles Murphy: Dave Chappelles Show, Roll Bounce, Kings Ransom), is also struggling to gain acceptance from the parents’ of his Cambodian-American wife, Paula (Kae Shimizu: Maid in Manhattan, The Other Shoe, Tie a Yellow Ribbon), whom he has been married to for 10 years.
