The Khmer Angels was formed by Lisa, a solo Khmer (Cambodian) artist in the late 90’s, who sold out her solo album throughout the US and Cambodia. Wanting to use her fame to become a positive role model for other Khmer Americans in the US, she formed The Khmer Angels. Somalis, a then well-known Karaoke Model joined her. Together their popularity in the Khmer Community as solo artist and models, quickly made The Khmer Angels successful. The most recent addition to the group was in early 2006 when a guest angel, Rei, was asked to join the group and has since then become a permanent member of the Khmer Angels.

They are the first and only recognized Khmer Pop group in the US to date. The group now consist of 3 Khmer/Asian/American girls, Lisa, Somalis and Rei. Together they have travelled around the states, from the West Coast to the East Coast and Canada. These 3 “Angels” are very popular among the Khmer population all over the US and still amaze the crowds with their energy and catchy pop beats. Today, you’ll more than likely find them performing at every Khmer Cultural Festival and Event across the US.

Late 2005, the Khmer Angels were asked to host a local cable talk show, called “Life & Style with the Khmer Angels” to feature Khmer-American artist and celebrities for the large Cambodian population in Long Beach, which consist of over 50,000 Khmer. The popularity of the show has vastly grown since and now is aired nationwide, weekly, with 2 shows aired live in the studio every month. Now being aired to more than the Khmer population, they have since focused their attention on all Asian-American celebrities and Artist. Their latest guest list includes Cambodia’s “Michael Jackson,” Preap Sovath, Yun Sopeap, Cham Nimol, King Sodeya, and Prach and Up and Coming Japanese-American Actress/J-Pop artist, Gina Hiraizumi.
